Emily @hayyems - Self Love Photoshoot Collaboration
EEKKKKK, I am literally VIBRATING with excitement about blogging this epic epic shoot. I first met Emily @hayyemsabout year ish ago, and I didn’t even know who she was, when I was shooting a very boujee xmas party for Alamour (fashion label) click here for ig post and she was having fun with her bestie dancing along. I remember spotting her in her sexy red dress, bun , and a magnetic smile, just bumping, grinding and throwing her hands up in the hair - like it was no one’s fucking business. I remember thinking ‘what a fucking vibe she is’.
Fast forward a year ish later, and I meet her at a women’s networking event @sheknowsbusiness and boom we make the connection. We fell in love, and the rest is history. We decided to do an epic collaboration, that felt very very aligned, my work is all about being in love with your body, feeling sexy, and really investing in yourself - and little did I know at the time - Emily is exactly the same. Her fans adore her, she’s a curve model and all about being real, raw, and being yourself no matter what. She is an influencer with beautiful integrity, and when you meet her in real life, she’s exactly the same as her IG. What a fucking delight - truly.
Anyhoo, back to present, when our schedules aligned, and she travelled to my yummy Jimboomba studio (30 mins in land from Tamborine Mountain) and embarked on a very fun experience. Emily got her hair and makeup done by the bubbly and ever so happy Phoebe (whose bridal boudoir and wedding I also shot) from @phoebelowennamua . Soft curls, and soft makeup that made her eyes pop like crazy! Em got pampered, we got deep and personal, laughed a lot, and also drank coffee (which Em did through a straw - bless her- she didn’t want to ruin her pearly whites). She let us in to her life, her career, and her viral proposal video which really skyrocketed her following, and of course her passion for curve modelling.
Don’t get me wrong, I have shot a hundred shoots, and they all have been widely different, unique, and always fun, but I still had the little case of nerves, because - what if I wasn’t as great as all the other photographers she’s worked with?!!! It sat in the back of my mind, but was gone as soon as she loved that I showed her all the poses beforehand, and gave her the real Daphne hype girl experience. Which usually entails lots of vibrant colourful language, yelling, screaming and FUCK YEAH GIRL’s. Obviously Em totally vibed and all nerves were gone and we flowed like two logs going down a very rapid river.
We co created this shoot, with my studio flow of poses, the JUICY wet scene (SHE LOVED THIS BTW - can’t post many as they are waayyyy too steamy and only for her fiance’s eyes teehee) , and she added in her beautiful sensual white sheet set, where she is posed naked, raw and as herself. This was so special, and I really loved taking in her details - her eyes, lips, nose, the curve in her waist, the soft rolls, and her neck line. She really is such a work of art. ** cue full teary happy eyes emoji **
